Eagle Plaza Community Facilities District (CFD)
Eagle Plaza will require regular maintenance improvements over time, for which a steady annual funding stream is needed. To this end, owners of neighboring properties including 1532 Harrison have committed to participating in a maintenance Community Facilities District (CFD), a funding mechanism that allows property owners to finance maintenance and upkeep of the public realm in their neighborhood. Also known as a Mello-Roos District, a CFD is a special tax district authorized by a public governing body like a city or regional government, and approved by the property owners within the proposed district. Guided by Eagle Plaza's nonprofit partner Place Lab (formerly Build Public), the Friends of Eagle Plaza will develop a CFD formation plan and budget that will provide annual funds to maintain and manage Eagle Plaza for public benefit. Please let us know if you'd like to get involved with this effort.
